CASA ITALIA COLLECTION –FISE
Piazza di Siena Roma
May 26-31, 2021
For the 88th edition of the Official International Equestrian Competition hosted at Piazza d iSiena Rome, Ex Elettrofonica and Secondome present a project named “A secret forest”,that aims to highlight the artistic beauty and value of the Casina di Raffaello and the Casina dell’Orologio, chosen as venues for Casa Italia Collection–FISE.
“A secret forest” draws inspiration from the history of the edifices, built at the behest ofCardinal Scipione Borghese in the early 1600s, originally located in the middle of amulberry grove, which was later destroyed toallow for the construction of what now is Piazza di Siena.
The concept is to restore the memory of thepre-existing grove within thetwo buildings, that now face the piazza. The works on display are by Guendalina Salini, a roman artist renown for her ability to interpret spaces, and able to evoke their original essence. In this case, Salinipresents a series of framed pieces and installations made from recycled cardboard that are incorporated into areas of multicolored trees, ennobling materials and leading guests intoan enchanted forest. At the core of The interior design project lie pieces by Moroso, such as the Josh and Karma koma sofas, in Ikebana printed fabric, Mimi, Bonobo and Ayub armchairs, which, with their grey, green and golden hues echo to the frescos on the ceilings, LunaparkMurano glass coffee tables, by Alessandro Zambelli and the Awaiting benches, in brassand printedartist’svelvet, designed by Giorgia Zanellato and Coralla Maiuri, ofSecondome. Each piece is carefully placed to recall the colours of earth, of the forest and to create the feeling of being suspended between dream and reality, perceived as the lights filtersthrough the trees.A selection of pieces by Ethimo furnish the Outdoors, that perfectly blend with the lush vegetation and the classicism of the architecture of Villa Borghese. The interior design project in its entirety, fits perfectly into the virtuous process that the organizers of the event have set in place in recent years, that aims to regenerate VillaBorghese, not only by adding quality to a prestigious sporting event, but also enhancing the venues unique artistic and environmental qualities.
